Stratasolve Ltd provides high quality biostratigraphic consultancy services to the oil industry. It is directed by Dr Paul Dodsworth FGS, a geologist who is established in the field of Cretaceous and Cenozoic palynology, and his wife Liz, a lawyer. The office is based in Warrington, Cheshire.

Stratasolve Ltd is qualified in the Achilles Joint Qualification System for suppliers to the oil industry (Achilles Id. 26289).

Paul Dodsworth has fourteen years experience as a full time biostratigraphic consultant to the oil industry and eight peer-reviewed journal publications on the applications of palynology to stratigraphic problem solving.

Paul’s main areas of expertise are the Cenozoic, Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic palynology and stratigraphy of Europe, north Africa and the Middle East. Review work of any age worldwide is also welcome. Specialist software for biostratigraphic data presentation and correlation are utilised, including Oilfield Data Manager (ODM v.3.5) and StrataBugs.

Office-based analyses allow accurate stratigraphic interpretation of hydrocarbon wells and assist in refining reservoir models. To ensure consistency, Paul undertakes all routine palynological analyses contracted to Stratasolve Ltd.

Wellsite-based analyses assist in picking casing points and making intra-reservoir steering decisions and TD calls. Paul has coordinated wellsite biostratigraphy and logistics during recent development well drilling in the UK sector.

Collaborative studies are undertaken with associate micropalaeontologist, nannopalaeontologist and other palynologists, including Paleozoic specialists. Laboratory subcontractors are audited to ensure compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
