Stratasolve Ltd provides high quality biostratigraphic consultancy services to the oil industry. It is directed by Dr Paul Dodsworth FGS, a geologist who is established in the field of Cretaceous and Tertiary palynology, and his wife Liz, a lawyer. The office is based in Warrington, Cheshire.

Stratasolve Ltd is qualified in the Achilles Joint Qualification System for suppliers to the oil industry.

Paul Dodsworth has twelve years experience as a full time biostratigraphic consultant to the oil industry and eight peer-reviewed journal publications on the applications of palynology to stratigraphic problem solving. He was Palynology Group Secretary of The Micropalaeontological Society from 2000 to 2005.

Paul’s main areas of expertise are the Cretaceous and Tertiary palynology and stratigraphy of northwest Europe and the Middle East. Review projects of any age worldwide are also welcome. Specialist software for biostratigraphic data presentation and correlation are utilised, including Oilfield Data Manager (ODM v.3.4) and StrataBugs.

Paul undertakes all palynological analyses contracted to Stratasolve Ltd. Office-based analyses allow accurate stratigraphic interpretation of hydrocarbon wells and assist in refining reservoir models. Wellsite-based analyses assist in picking casing points and making intra-reservoir steering decisions and TD calls.

Collaborative projects are undertaken with micropalaeontologists, nannopalaeontologists and other palynologists, including Paleozoic specialists. Laboratory subcontractors are audited to ensure compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
